Ask anyone in Bangkok where to change money and you will hear “Superrich”. That answer is ambiguous, because there are three separate companies using the name.

They share a history — the business split along family lines — but they are independently run today and set their own rates. None of them is reliably better than the others; the lead changes from day to day and from currency to currency.
The numbers on 14 October 2026

On that day the green head office led the best orange branch on all six currencies: by 70 baht per US$1,000, by 100 baht per €1,000 and per £1,000, and by 50 baht per ¥100,000. On Korean won, Grand Superrich across the road beat both. The mid-market rate for the dollar was 33.58, so the green head office was 0.2% below interbank — about as tight as cash exchange gets. The next day the order may be different, which is why the live Bangkok ranking is more useful than this table.
The branch matters more than the brand
Both chains publish a separate rate for every branch. The pattern is consistent: head offices are the best, mall branches sit slightly behind. The difference reflects rent, not policy.
The pattern is not a law, though. On 14 October the green head office really was the top green branch for every currency. The orange chain was different: its best dollar, euro, pound and yen were posted not at the Silom head office but at the Big C Place branch on Ratchadapisek, its best yuan at the Bangkok Hospital branch, and its best won at the partner counter in Terminal 21 Pattaya.
So the useful question is never “green or orange”, it is “which branch of any company is highest for my currency right now”. Across all 86 Bangkok counters the gap between best and worst dollar on 14 October was 360 baht per US$1,000; between the two best brands it was 70.
Grand Superrich is worth knowing
Grand Superrich on Soi Ratchadamri 1 is a single office rather than a chain, and it consistently competes with the two larger names. On 14 October it posted the best Korean won rate in Bangkok, 0.0253 against 0.0252 at the green head office.
Because it is two minutes’ walk from Superrich Thailand’s head office, you can check both boards before committing — which is the whole reason the Pratunam area has the best rates in the country. It also matters on Sundays: the green head office is closed that day (Saturday hours are 09:30–17:00), so the weekend Pratunam rate comes from here and from the mall branches.
Denominations: where the steps are
All three pay by note size, and the steps are on the board. At the green head office on 14 October a US$100 or US$50 note earned 33.51, a US$20 or US$10 earned 33.45, a US$5 earned 33.40 and a US$1 earned 33.25. Euros were gentler: 37.50 for €500 to €100, 37.45 for €50 to €5. Yen had no steps at all.
The orange chain shows that bigger is not always better: at Big C Place, Taiwan dollar notes from NT$100 to NT$1,000 earned 1.015 while the NT$2,000 note earned 1.005. Read the denomination row, not just the headline figure; see how to read a rate board and which banknotes to bring.
Others in the same league
Vasu Exchange (Sukhumvit Soi 7/1, BTS Nana) and X-One (Surawong) are long-established and frequently match or beat the big names.
K79 near BTS On Nut is another regular contender — and a reminder of how far branches of one group can drift. Its K81 counter on Ram Inthra 81 posted the worst dollar in Bangkok on 14 October, 33.15, and the worst euro, pound and yen as well.
Twelve Victory has 14 Bangkok counters and the widest network outside the capital, reaching Hua Hin, Isan and the border towns.
Outside Bangkok
Both big chains have one counter each in Pattaya: green at Central Pattaya near the Hilton lobby, orange at Terminal 21 on the M floor. On 14 October the green counter had Pattaya’s best euro (37.30), yen and pound; the orange counter had the best won of any orange branch in the country and, at the same time, Pattaya’s worst rouble. Green also has a counter at Central Chonburi. Neither company is on Phuket or in Chiang Mai, where the published boards belong to Lion, Mamy and Super Money. How to actually decide
Pick the currency, look at today’s ranking across all branches, then walk to the closest of the top few.
The gap between first and last in Bangkok on 14 October was 360 baht per US$1,000 — on US$1,000 roughly US$11 for a decision that takes ten seconds, on US$5,000 about US$54. The gap between the two best brands was a tenth of that, which is why it is rarely worth crossing town for a colour.
Whatever any ranking says, the board at the counter is final. Rates move several times a day with the interbank market, and the figure you saw at breakfast may have changed by the afternoon. Check the board and the denomination row before handing over cash, and count the baht at the window.
