About THX

THX is an independent comparison site for cash exchange rates across Thailand — Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin and more. It exists because the answer to "where should I change money today?" changes every day, and the only way to know is to check every shop's board.

Where the rates come from

Every rate on this site is read automatically from the money changer's own public website or rate feed — the same numbers they display in the shop. We currently cover 169 branches across four companies:

• T.T. Currency Exchange — Pattaya's largest chain, with branches from Naklua to Jomtien. Rates are fetched per branch from ttexchange.com, because branch groups have slightly different margins.
• Superrich Thailand (green) — Central Pattaya 1st-floor branch. Rates are fetched for that specific branch from superrichthailand.com.
• SuperRich 1965 (orange) — Terminal 21 Pattaya partner branch. Rates are fetched for that branch from superrich1965.com.
• Damini Exchange — Soi 13/2 (Soi Post Office). Rates are read from daminiexchange.com.

The mid-market ("interbank") line comes from open.er-api.com and is shown for reference only. No shop is paid to appear here and no rate is edited by hand.

How often it updates

Every few minutes, around the clock. If a shop's website cannot be reached, its last known rates stay visible and are marked stale with the time they were last confirmed.

Only real shops

We list a branch only when it appears on the operator's own branch list and publishes rates. Temporarily closed branches are labelled as such and excluded from the ranking.

How the site is funded

THX is free to use. It may show advertising and some links to travel services are referral links; they never influence the ranking, which is purely by rate.
