Bangkok’s hotels sort themselves by transit line more than by price: a riverside address means boats and BTS Saphan Taksin, Siam means the skywalk, Sukhumvit means the BTS. The money changers follow the same lines. The best published rates in the city are at Ratchadamri Soi 1 in Pratunam (Superrich Thailand and Grand Superrich), with Vasu at Sukhumvit Soi 7/1, Value Plus inside CentralWorld, and counters at most BTS stations, so wherever you stay, a good rate is a short walk. The hotels below are grouped by area with their Booking.com guest score and review count as shown on 2026-10-22; each photo is the hotel itself, under a Creative Commons licence.

The money rules that apply at every one of them
- Pay the room by card and in baht. The bill is settled at checkout in baht; a card with no foreign-transaction fee is charged close to the mid-market rate. If the terminal offers to charge in your home currency, decline it. The card-or-cash guide covers the deposit hold too.
- Check whether the rate is ++. A rate quoted ”++” still has 10% service charge and 7% VAT to add, 17.7% in total. Booking.com shows the total with taxes before you confirm. See the service-charge article.
- Carry cash for what cards cannot do, and change it at a published rate rather than the hotel desk. The day’s ranking is on the city page linked below.
- Free cancellation is worth filtering for. Most hotels above list rooms with free cancellation on Booking.com, so you can hold a room before the dates are fixed.
For the day’s rates at 86 Bangkok counters see Bangkok exchange rates; for the counters at each station see the BTS and MRT guide.
