Hua Hin draws a long-stay European and Scandinavian crowd, and its exchange shops reflect that: fewer of them than in Pattaya, but competent and used to handling euros, pounds and Scandinavian currencies. The site tracks four counters in town, all Twelve Victory branches, and as of 15 October 2026 they were quoting the same rates as the best boards in Bangkok on most of the major currencies.
Where the shops are
Market Village. The largest shopping centre in Hua Hin, on Phetkasem Road. Twelve Victory operates counters on the basement level, open 10:00 to 20:00, and on the third floor, open 10:30 to 20:00. Convenient, air-conditioned, and both open seven days a week.
Bluport. The newer mall towards Khao Takiab. A Twelve Victory counter on level B, open 10:00 to 20:00 every day.
Naresdamri Road. The beachfront street through the centre of town. The standalone Twelve Victory branch at number 160, listed on the site as Hua Hin 2, keeps the longest hours in town, 10:00 to 22:00 seven days a week, which is useful in the evening when the malls have closed. It is the only tracked counter in Hua Hin open at 21:00 or later, and it has its own page with a map.
All four were open on Sunday on 15 October; nothing in Hua Hin closes for the weekend the way some Bangkok head offices do.
What the boards said on 15 October 2026
The four branches quoted identical rates, so within Hua Hin there is nothing to choose between them on price; pick the nearest. The comparison that matters is with Bangkok.

The euro rate, 37.50, was exactly the best rate available anywhere in Bangkok that day, and 0.2% below the mid-market rate of 37.58. Pounds and yen likewise matched the capital’s best. Dollars were 0.01 baht behind, 10 baht on US$1,000, and Swiss francs 0.05 behind. Korean won were 0.0252 against Bangkok’s 0.0253, and Chinese yuan 5.01 against 5.02.
The old assumption that Hua Hin runs “slightly behind Bangkok” was not true on 15 October for euros or pounds, and on the other currencies the gap was a rounding error. For a two-week holiday there is no amount worth carrying down from the capital. The same numbers appeared on 15 October at Twelve Victory’s Udon Thani and Mae Sai branches, so the chain appears to price its provincial counters together rather than town by town; what Hua Hin lacks is a competing chain, not a competitive rate. That is also why the four branches never differ from each other, and why the day-to-day movement of the mid-market rate matters more here than the choice of shop. Denomination tiers
Twelve Victory tiers dollars more finely than most. On 15 October the Naresdamri Road board paid 33.50 for US$100 notes, 33.43 for US$50, 33.38 for US$5 to US$20 and 33.23 for US$1, a gap of 0.8% from top to bottom. Euros were tiered gently, 37.50 for 100- and 500-euro notes, 37.45 for 50s and 37.40 for 5 to 20. Pounds were 44.40 for £50 and 44.35 for everything smaller, and Swiss francs a flat 40.10 for every note. The currency-by-currency picture is in which banknotes to bring.
Scandinavian and European currencies
Because of who visits, Hua Hin shops handle Danish krone, Norwegian krone and Swedish krona more readily than most Thai towns. Those currencies are not on the tracked boards, so no rate is given here for them, but the pattern elsewhere is that the less common the currency, the wider the gap between what the shop pays and what it charges, because the shop has to move the notes on. If you have a choice, euros are the better thing to carry: on 15 October the Hua Hin euro board was 0.2% from mid-market, and the round trip between buying at 37.50 and selling at 37.65 was 0.4%.
Changing baht back
The same four counters sell foreign currency. On 15 October they were selling dollars at 33.55 against a buying rate of 33.50, a round trip of 0.05 baht, and euros at 37.65 against 37.50. With the Naresdamri Road branch open until 22:00, the change-back can be done the evening before a morning transfer to Bangkok; leftover baht covers the alternatives.
Getting there and away
Hua Hin is around three to four hours from Bangkok by road or rail. If you are arriving from Suvarnabhumi and transferring straight down, by a transfer booked before you land or by bus, change only taxi money at the airport and do the rest in town. The tracked counters on the airport’s rail-link level were 0.10 baht behind Bangkok on dollars and euros on 15 October, which is the same distance that Hua Hin is ahead of them, so there is no reason to change the trip’s cash before leaving the airport. Practical notes
- Bring large, clean notes; the Twelve Victory tiers above are the cost of anything smaller.
- Carry your passport; identification is recorded for every transaction, as explained in passport and ID rules.
- Mall counters follow mall hours, 10:00 or 10:30 to 20:00. The Naresdamri Road branch opens at 10:00 and closes at 22:00. None of the four opens before 10:00, so an early-morning change is not possible in Hua Hin; plan it for the afternoon.
