Hua Hin draws a long-stay European and Scandinavian crowd, and its exchange shops reflect that: fewer of them than in Pattaya, but competent and used to handling euros, pounds and Scandinavian currencies.
Where the shops are
Market Village — The largest shopping centre in Hua Hin, on Phetkasem Road. Twelve Victory operates counters on the basement level and the third floor. Convenient, air-conditioned, long hours.
Bluport — The newer mall towards Khao Takiab. A Twelve Victory counter on level B.
Naresdamri Road — The beachfront street through the centre of town. A standalone Twelve Victory branch here keeps notably long hours, often until 22:00, which is useful in the evening when the malls have closed.
Rates versus Bangkok
Hua Hin usually runs slightly behind Bangkok, typically well under 1% on major currencies. For a two-week holiday that difference is a few hundred baht — not worth planning around, but worth a glance before you walk.
The more useful comparison is between the shops in town, where the same-day spread is often larger than the Bangkok-versus-Hua Hin gap.
Scandinavian and European currencies
Because of who visits, Hua Hin shops handle Danish krone, Norwegian krone and Swedish krona more readily than most Thai towns. Rates on those currencies are still wider than on euros — the shops have to move the notes eventually — so if you have a choice, euros are the better thing to carry.
Getting there and away
Hua Hin is around three to four hours from Bangkok by road or rail. If you are arriving from Suvarnabhumi and transferring straight down — by a transfer booked before you landAd or by bus — change only taxi money at the airport and do the rest in town.

- Mall counters follow mall hours, roughly 10:00–20:00. Street shops open earlier and close later.
