Every currency has two numbers because the shop’s price to buy and to sell are not the same. On arrival you read the BUYING column; changing leftover baht back, you read SELLING. The gap is usually 1–3%, and that gap is how the shop earns. The second button above the results switches this comparison to the SELLING side.

Changing money in Phuket

The site tracks four counters in Phuket: Mamy Exchange in Koh Kaew, and three Lion Currency Exchange branches, one on the 4th floor of Central Phuket and two in Patong at Jungceylon, one by the Big C entrance and one at unit GC3119. Two airports are tracked on their own pages, Phuket and Krabi.

The site does not have confirmed opening hours for any of the four, so treat Sunday and evening opening as unverified. The boards are short: only six currencies are quoted across the island’s tracked shops, so if you are carrying anything other than the main ones, check the live table before you set out.

The spread is the widest of any city on the site. On 28 September 2026 the best US dollar buying rate was 33.41 baht against a mid-market rate of 33.42, at Mamy Exchange, while Lion’s best was 32.90, a gap of 0.51 baht per dollar, or 510 baht on a thousand. Comparing matters here more than anywhere else the site covers. The guide to Phuket money exchange sets Patong, Phuket Town and the airport against each other; the airport-to-Patong guide prices the first ride, and island-hopping costs covers the boats.
