Most Thai money changers open seven days a week. The ones that do not are a short list, and unfortunately it includes a few of the shops people go out of their way for. This page lists who closes on Sunday, who stays open latest, and where to go on a Sunday evening in the cities most readers are in. Hours are as published on 16 October 2026; each shop page on the site shows the current schedule, and the rates refresh every few minutes.

Who closes on Sunday

Not every shop publishes hours, so the count starts there. In Bangkok the site tracks 86 counters, 63 of which publish hours, and 58 of those 63 are open on Sunday. In Pattaya it is 62 counters, 56 with hours and 54 open. Across the nine cities in this update, eight counters with published hours close for the whole of Sunday.

Bangkok.

Pattaya. Two T.T. Currency Exchange branches, Jomtien 2nd Road and Rajchawaroon Road. The other 54 Pattaya counters with published hours are open.

The provinces. Super Money in Chiang Rai, on Prasopsuk Road, is closed; the other tracked Chiang Rai counter is open. Both Chiang Mai counters, all four in Hua Hin, and the single counters in Hat Yai and Udon Thani are open. Phuket’s four tracked counters and Chonburi’s two publish no hours, so we cannot say either way.

Everyone else with published hours is open: every SuperRich 1965 counter in Bangkok that publishes hours, all four Value Plus counters, K79 on Sukhumvit 79, Twelve Victory at BTS Phloen Chit and in its Bangkok malls, both Happy Rich counters at the airport rail stations, and the Superrich counters in Pattaya’s malls.

Who stays open latest

Closing times cluster around 18:00 for head offices and standalone shops, 20:00 to 20:30 for mall counters, and later only in a few places. Nothing trades past midnight.

Bangkok is the odd one out. Of its 63 counters with published hours, only three trade past 20:30: Thaniya and the two airport rail counters. The mall branches of SuperRich 1965 close at 20:30 and Superrich Thailand publishes no hours for its mall counters. Pattaya, by contrast, has 45 counters with a closing time of 21:00 or later, and 43 of them are open on Sunday, since the two that close on Sunday, Jomtien 2nd Road and Rajchawaroon Road, are late closers on other days.

Public holidays

Thai public holidays, and the long New Year and Songkran breaks in particular, change opening hours in ways the chains do not always announce in advance. Head offices may close, mall counters usually follow the mall, and standalone shops decide for themselves. We do not list holiday dates here because the hours on a given holiday are not something we can promise. Treat any holiday as a Sunday for planning purposes and check the shop page that morning.

Where to go on a Sunday

Bangkok. The mall counters carry Sunday. SuperRich 1965 at CentralWorld (3rd floor), Central Embassy (2nd floor), MBK (2nd floor, two counters), ICONSIAM (5th floor), Platinum POP (G floor) and Big C Ratchadamri (2nd floor) all run 10:30–20:30 on Sunday. Its units inside MRT Sukhumvit and MRT Rama 9 are open until 20:00, MRT Chatuchak and MRT Kamphaeng Phet until 19:00, and MRT Sanam Chai and Station One Yaowarat until 18:00. Value Plus at CentralWorld closes at 19:45, EmQuartier and Robinson Bangrak at 20:00, and Thaniya at 23:00. Twelve Victory trades at BTS Phloen Chit until 18:00 and at MBK’s G floor until 19:30. K79 on Sukhumvit 79 keeps 08:00–17:00. If you were planning on Vasu, Phloen Chit is one stop west and MRT Sukhumvit one stop east.

Pattaya. Nothing to plan. Fifty-four counters are open, including the Superrich Thailand counter at Central Pattaya and the SuperRich 1965 counter at Terminal 21, both 11:00–20:00 on Sunday, and T.T.’s Central Branch until 23:00. The only two closed are Jomtien 2nd Road and Rajchawaroon Road, each a few minutes’ walk from another T.T.; the branches are mapped in the T.T. guide.

Chiang Mai. Both Super Money branches, on Loi Kroh Road and Sri Phum Road, are open on Sunday, 08:30–17:30. That closing time is the constraint, not the day: the Sunday Walking Street on Ratchadamnoen starts as the shops shut, so change in the afternoon.

Hua Hin and the north. All four Hua Hin counters are open, and Twelve Victory Hua Hin 2 runs until 22:00. In Chiang Rai, the Super Money branch on Prasopsuk Road is closed and the town’s other counter is open; if you are heading there on a Sunday, change before you leave or check the Chiang Rai page.

Late in the evening

If it is after 20:30 in Bangkok, the choice is Value Plus on Thaniya until 23:00, an airport rail counter if you happen to be there, or an ATM at a flat 220 baht. In Pattaya the choice is which of 43 counters is nearest. In Chiang Mai the shops are shut by 17:30 and the evening options are the ATM or the morning. The Bangkok trade-offs are in which counters stay open latest.

When you do not need to plan around Sunday

The current hours for every shop, including any Sunday variation, are on the shop directory, and the city comparisons on Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Hua Hin show which open counters pay most right now.
